SCAM LEAGUE OF SORRY, TALES AND BLOOD
From the first week of kick off for the new season in the Nigeria National League, the league has been plaque with all sort of negative reports from match officials beaten up and players chased round by fans.
This follows non-payment of players’ salaries by clubs, and the win at all cause that plaques the league, makes it a do or die affair in the lower league.
Some few days back the Nigeria Referee Association circulated a memo to stop her members from officiating in the lower leagues to the frequent harassment and beating of its members.
The 13th of August 2016 witness how fans descended heavily on the trio of, J. OGUNTOYINBI, TOPE AJAYI AND K. ONILEARO from Ekiti states in Osogbo, in the game involving Prime Fc of Osogbo and Remo stars FC of Remo.
The players and coaches crew of Remo stars were not let out of the beaten, the away team had to scale through the township stadium and seek refuge in a nearby mobile police station.
With the length of time used in covering the Nigeria National league, the organisers need to do more in term of security because its common phenomenon that when the league is getting to the tail end lot of negative antics are usually associated with the teams ,either on home ground or away ties.
