Paul Bassey describes Late Stephen KESHI and Late Shuaibu Amodu as role models.
A member of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) technical committee and chairman Akwa United F.C, Mr Paul Bassey has described the need for the immortalization of late coaches Stephen Keshi and Shuaibu Amodu.
The respected FIFA and CAF match commissioner who has been invited by CAF to serve as an instructor in this month's CAF match commissioners seminar which is scheduled to hold between 11-17 July,2016 in Cairo,Egypt said "We went to sympathize with the NFF president. A big loss for us. Proposals have been put before the government. Great sons of Nigeria they are. It's something that's on the table of the Minister. Whatever we can do to immortalize them,whatever we can do to make our youths try to attain those levels which they did because we must have these men as role models".
He further added "An upcoming young sports journalist will want to look at a Paul Bassey and pick out that outstanding factor for him to emulate. So coaches, domestic coaches,footballers wants Keshi to be a role model to not just themselves but the society at large. So it's still on the table of the NFF. I believe at the proper time we will get the final output on this".
Late Shuaibu Amodu was buried in his home town Okpella in Edo state on 11th June 2016, a day after he died according to Islamic rites. Similarly, Late Stephen KESHI will be buried on the weekend of 27th-29th July, 2016.
